A few years ago David Tennant pulled out of Hamlet due to back problems and I didn’t get a chance to have him sign my drawing. I saw him later in Much Ado about Nothing and got the signature.
At the end of last year we went to see Rob Brydon in “A Chorus of Disapproval” at the Harold Pinter Theatre. Enjoyed the play and some of the cast – Rob Brydon, Nigel Harman, Ashley Jensen – signed my drawing.
The all female cast of ‘Julius Caesar’ at the Donmar Warehouse Frances Barber, Jenny Jules, Cush Jumbo and Harriet Walter signed sketch. Haven’t seen the play yet, which looks interesting and has been well reviewed by the critics. The setting a women’s prison. They all loved the drawing.
Hugh was notoriously hard to get an autograph from. A few German collectors tore up their glossy 8×10″ photos in disgust when he didn’t sign for them.
He was going in to do a soundcheck at the London Union Chapel in 2011 when he signed for me. His PA was trying to drag him away, but he really liked my drawing!
I met Mark Rylance tonight who is performing Richard III and Twelfth Night in repertory. He leads an all male cast – both brilliant plays. My drawings of the rest of the cast are here.
He slipped down to the stage door to have a sneaky ciggie, so I got his siggy and had a great discussion with him about playwriting. He’s just finished writing “Nice Fish” which will premiere in Minneapolis in April this year.

Haven’t watched the new TV series, but caught Henry Goodman and David Haig at the Gielgud Theatre in London’s Westend in 2010.
Thoroughly enjoyed watching “Jerusalem” on stage in the Westend a couple of years ago. So here’s my drawing – signed by Mark Rylance and Mackenzie Crook
Back in 2011 I sent a copy of this drawing to Robin Williams on Broadway asking him to sign it and return it to me. No reply. So when he came to London later that year I got him to sign it as he was leaving BBC Radio 2. Unfortunately, he was too busy to dedicate it to me. Nevermind, I went on to the Happy Feet 2 premiere in Leicester Square and tried my luck again. I only wanted him to fill in the dedication, but I must have confused him. Now the drawing has the dedication and not one, but two Robin Williams autographs.
Saw Quentin Tarantino at the London premiere of Django Unchained last week. This is an older drawing, but I figured it was worth posting.
